Seborrheic Keratosis

Seborrheic Keratoses, also known as SK's, are common growths that can be raised or flat.  When raised, they appear “stuck on” or similar to a “barancle.”  SK's are benign, but they can grow or become itchy and red when inflamed or irritated.  They can be removed in the office with a variety of techniques.

Some types of skin cancer can mimic SK's so if any lesion is changing or growing, an evaluation with Dr. Sergay is indicated.
